May 5, 2025 1 min read 7 People Read

Mathematical ratios are powerful tools in creating aesthetic and balanced designs.

The Golden Ratio (1:1.618) and Fibonacci sequence (1, 1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13...) are proportions frequently found in nature and art that are pleasing to the eye.

Application areas in UI design:

  • Layout ratios: Divide the screen according to the golden ratio
  • Sizing: Set the heading-text ratio to 1.618:1
  • Grid systems: Use Fibonacci values like 8-13-21-34
  • Logo design: Golden spiral in brand symbols
  • White space management: 1:1.618 ratio between content and space

These mathematical principles add subconsciously perceived balance and harmony to your designs.
