Think about how you hold your phone. Can your thumb easily reach every part of the screen?
The 'Thumb Zone' is the area that users can comfortably reach while using their phones with one hand. It is critically important in user experience design.
Accessibility map:
- Easy access: Lower half of the screen and the edge on the same side
- Medium difficulty access: Middle area of the screen
- Difficult access: Opposite top corner
Place the most frequently used elements (CTA buttons, menu, etc.) in the easy access zone.
You can position rarely used or potentially harmful actions (delete, exit) in the difficult access zone.
A good designer is one who considers users' real-life physical limitations.
