5-Day Design Sprint Structure:

  • Monday: Understanding
    Mapping the problem area, determining long-term goals
    Technique: Expert interviews, How Might We questions
  • Tuesday: Sketching
    Developing all possible solution ideas
    Technique: Crazy 8s, solution sketches
  • Wednesday: Deciding
    Democratically selecting the best idea
    Technique: Heat map voting, decision matrix
  • Thursday: Prototyping
    Converting the selected idea into a testable prototype
    Technique: Fake-real prototype, smoke and mirrors
  • Friday: Testing
    Testing the prototype with real users
    Technique: 5 user tests, interview notes
